Welcome to my new blog "Venturing Virginia's Wine Country". My inspiration for this blog came from a Virginia Winery Guide I picked up in my local Wegman's supermarket. I have always loved wine but recently I have become obsessed with visiting local wineries and tasting wines crafted from grapes native to the 'Old Dominion' State. So I decided to start this blog to share my experiences and document my adventures through Virginia's wine country.
The Virginia Wine Board Marketing Office created this amazing brochure (shown above) on Virginia wineries and vineyards. The Winery Guide includes a map and complete list of wineries organized by region -- Virginia is home to 230 plus wineries! Also listed are the 25 different wine trails located throughout the state. My goal for this blog is visit as many of our wineries as I can and provide highlights and photos from every visit.
